=============================================== Download and update routines are only available to monitoring centres that have their support payments up to date (or have paid separately). =============================================== These instructions explain how to: a..Get a list of recent changes to the ADSW SQL program b..Download and install the latest ADSW SQL signal definitions c..Download and install the latest ADSW SQL program files WARNING: We are now using Winzip Version 10 for compressing and encrypting (with 128bit selected) all new download files and passwords. You will not be able to unzip these new files if you are using earlier versions of Winzip or some other compatible utility. LIST OF RECENT CHANGES =============================================== Go to www.ntsoftware.com.au/changes Enter the password "Network" Read thru the list of changes .. print if necessary DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE LATEST SIGNAL DEFS =============================================== It is recommended that you carry out this procedure immediately prior to doing an update on the ADSW SQL files. If you do it after an ADSW files update, some signals may not get analysed correctly. Go to www.ntsoftware.com.au/download Download the latest ADSW SQL signal definition file into a temporary folder Unzip the downloaded file into the ADSW folder on the server. No password is required. It normally contains just 1 file (FULLDEFS).IMP Overwrite if necessary. On the server, go into menu's other, utility menu, system, signal defintions. Click on the import button. On the import screen, highlight the (FULLDEFS).IMP file then click on import. This will import all the latest signal definitions. It will not overwrite your existing entries unless they are Not Yet Defined. When finished, close the import screen - you may see the list of signal plan names increase - these will be new plans that have been added by the import. Close the signal defintions screen, close the utiltity menu. DOWNLOAD THE LATEST ADSW SQL FILES =============================================== Try to do this routine at a reasonably quiet time and as soon as possible after an ADSW SQL database backup routine has completed. If your computer support people have set up a redundancy routine called "Replication" then they should be called. Replication must be completely removed from the ADSW data and history databases prior to doing the ADSW updates. It can be re-created and applied only after the ADSW program has been re- started and is up and running correctly. Contact NT Software and ask for the current password for the ADSW SQL download. Create a folder called "Old" under a folder called ADSWInstall on your ADSW server. If this "old" folder exists and already contains some files, delete them. Copy all the "application" type files from the ADSW folder on the server, into the "ADSWInstall\Old" folder. This step is important because it gives you a set of files to go back to, if the update fails. Create a folder called "Latest" under the ADSWInstall folder on your ADSW server. If this "Latest" folder exists and already contains some files, delete them. Go to www.ntsoftware.com.au/download Download the ADSW SQL update file and save it into the "Latest" folder Unzip the file into the "Latest" folder - using the password supplied by NT Software Check that you can see a number of application type files in the "Latest" folder. If all appears to be ok. On all ADSW computers, close down all the ADSW programs, including analysis, executioner, receiver programs, workstation programs, email exchange, fax exchange and sms programs. There must be no ADSW related program running on any computer in your network. This is important, because the update may require exclusive access to the ADSW database files It may not be able to get exclusive access if other ADSW programs are running. Copy the new files into the ADSW folder on the server. If you get an error saying something like "cannot copy because file in use". Double check that you have shutdown all ADSW programs. Then try the copy again. You should not get any errors during copying of files. Do not start the ADSW receiver programs yet. Start the ADSW Operations Server program on the server first - wait until the ADSW server programs are running. You should normally see the Operations log on screen, the analysis program and the executioner program running on the server. If your system is set up differently, make sure you start the analysis program first, followed by the executioner. If all appears to be ok, copy the same latest files to each computers ADSW folder. This includes any "receiver" computers and "workstation" computers that you may use Now start the ADSW programs on the receiver computers (if used) Now start the ADSW programs on the workstation computers Now start the ADSW email, fax and sms programs as necessary CHECK AND APPLY =============================================== Please check all the changes as listed in the changes page that you previously printed Please check all the normal functions that you use in the ADSW program Report any problems to NT Software asap Pass details of the changes on to your operators so that they know what the changes are for and how to make use of them File ends..
